Knowing he only had a few days in London left spurred Finn on to find the perfect location for his and Claire’s next date. They’d managed to go out a few times while they were both in New York, and strolls in Central Park and dinner dates had been wonderful. They’d continued in much the same manner once back in London, whenever Claire was free they’d been able to meet up either for a meal or a short walk.

He needed a change of environment though, and that’s where his idea of finding a beach had taken hold. Sure, it was the beginning of fall and the weather hadn’t been amazing, but they could wrap up and laugh as they attempted to eat ice cream while being wind blown on the beach. At least, that’s what he’d thought it would be like. He hadn’t planned on the temperatures suddenly rising, leaving them with a day more like summer than fall. With the sea breeze, it was still likely to be the kind of weather where they could wrap up and cuddle a little, but it would no longer be a ridiculous idea to go to the beach.

He called on Claire as early as was reasonable, considering it had to be a time when he could wake up and walk as though he was a living creature. The drive to the closest beach wasn’t too long, just an hour, and they passed the time chatting and enjoying the change of scenery that came from leaving London.

Once there, he found a place to leave the car for the day and got out to survey the area. They were situated on a promenade, with shops to one side and the beach to the other.

”Here we are,” he gestured proudly, as though this was the best idea he’d had in a while.

Glenda Chittock walked off of the Quidditch pitch, her hair damp, cheeks warm and red, after having had a two-hour Quidditch training practice with the Hufflepuff team. She was exhausted — she always put her heart and soul into both practice and the actual matches, but this practice had been ten times more intense. No matter, she’d enjoyed every single second of it and she walked beside Amyrillis Abbott with her signature smile— stretching from ear to ear— on her face. She hoped one day to perhaps go into professional Quidditch, maybe try out for either the Chudley Cannons or the Holyhead Harpies. Her other idea was to go into something where she could talk to people on a daily basis — something related to one of the wizarding radio network perhaps. Her bedroom at her parents’ house was filled with radios from a number of different decades, going back as far as the 1920s.

Glenda considered Amyrillis, who was more commonly known as Ames, one of her best friends. She could talk to her about anything and Glenda would do anything to make sure Ames was okay. She often joked that she would die for her friends but if it came down to it, she absolutely would jump take the brunt of the trouble for them. The cheerful blonde believed in loyalty until the very end and to break that vow would not go down well with her.

She looked over at Amyrillis who was also on the Hufflepuff Quidditch team and grinned at her, draping an arm around the girl’s shoulders. “Good practice, no? Fancy getting some dinner?” she asked, though she didn’t take no for an answer and dragged Amyrillis back to the castle and into the Great Hall. There, she sat at the Hufflepuff table and watched as the table came alive with greens and yellows and whites and pinks and browns, and helped herself to a plate full of food. “I can’t wait for the next match. After that practice, we are definitely going to beat the other teams this year.”

Soap Life is a brand new, upcoming roleplay that revolves around Soap Operas in the United Kingdom. Soaps include; Eastenders, Coronation Street, Hollyoaks and Emmerdale. I will include more characters/soaps if requested.

Soap Life will be open when all characters are up and we have at least a few apps or reserves. I’m sorry, I love you, but, I don’t want to open this place if we’re not going to get apps. I’ll give it a try definitely, though.

I will do another post with the characters I have in mind after this, don’t be afraid to put a character in my ask - include the soap! - and I will definitely consider it. I don’t think I would have a problem with it, unless the character is too old for this roleplay.

She walked into the kitchen and sifted through the mail, finding nothing addressed to her. It was another boring day. Or well, not really another boring day, it was never boring where she lived. She turned the kettle on, jumping slightly as the phone rang. She picked up sharply and exclaimed, assuming it was either one of her parents or Sian, “Hiya, you scared me there!” In reply, she heard a beep as the caller hung up. Sophie frowned deeply, moving her hair out of her face as she placed the phone down again.

Goodness isn’t a word you’d associate with Derek Branning… unless you were talking about his daughter Alice. With a father like Derek you’d expect Alice Branning to have the mind of a master criminal, the emotional warmth of a reptile and the laidback nature of a fighting dog. But really she’s quite the opposite. She brings out the best in people. Could she do the same for her merciless father?

If Alice was to describe herself she’d probably choose the word ‘average’ – average looks, average intelligence. But Alice undersells herself. She’s funny and resourceful and though she might seem like a pushover, she can stand up for herself when she needs to. Plus, there’s nothing average about the family she comes from. Her father’s name was dirt while she was growing up with her over-protective mother and older brother, Joey. But Alice is curious about him and wants to know more. She’s an optimist, and looks for the good in people. Derek can’t be as bad as her mum and brother say… can he?

Stacey Branning, originally Slater, moved to Walford when she was just 15. She was quickly labelled a feisty and troublesome teenager, an extension of the already established Slater clan. Stacey had been through so much, including abortion, drug abuse, mental illness, an affair with her father-in-law Max and the murder of Archie Mitchell. Stacey appears to be tough, stubborn, fiery and very bitchy, however, this is just a front and underneath she’s very vulnerable. Stacey has been described as sarky, sassy and…realistically streetwise. Indeed, her malicious tongue and wicked ways led to her being heralded as “A Junior Janine”, She’s very naughty, but she has her reasons for her nastiness, and more than likely, they are good reasons. After losing her best friend, Danielle Jones, Stacey began acting strangely.. After alot of denying it, Stacey finally had to come to terms with the prospect that, like her mother, she also suffers from bipolar disorder. That was the beginning of every resident in Walford finally getting to really know and understand who Stacey is and what makes her behave the way she does, and it really did make sense as it was revealed.

As said before, Stacey was originally a Slater, that was until she met the love of her life, Bradley, in 2006, and since then, their relationship had been nothing but drama. Bradley is definitely not the type of person you’d think Stacey would have chosen, but as soon as his eyes saw her, he made it his goal to make her, his. Geeky… goody-twoshoes Bradley doesn’t seem like the type of lad she would normally go for, however, the couple may be chalk and cheese, but with Stacey’s history of emotional turmoil, Bradley was just the stabilising influence she needed. That was until, sadly, in 2010, Bradley died, and Stacey was left alone.. except for the fact that she was pregnant - the baby gave Stacey a reason to live following Bradleys death and she beat all odds, and came out to be a wonderful mother. Theres a complete change in Stacey, and everyone can see it, she’s a woman, a mother to baby, Lily, let’s hope all can stay well with her.

Sample Para:She stood there, still as a rock with just her eyes flickering ever so slightly as they stared deeply into Joel’s. He was leaving. Already. She tilted her head marginally upwards to look at her boyfriend, Will as she felt the warmth of his arm wrap around her. Her eyes soon glanced back into Joel’s direction again. He looked miserable; even more so since Will had turned up. She wanted to fling her arms around him; give him the biggest hug, but Will’s sternness told her she couldn’t. The way he spoke to Joel; his tone of voice, the sharp words that edged their way out, even the way he held her; it was as if thought he owned her. Theresa bit down on her lip, blinking back the few tears that had begun to form in her eyes. She’d only recently met him, but she’d gained attached to him, unlike she had with anyone for ages. It was as if she already knew him; perhaps that was because of the bond she’d had with his father, Warren. She watched hopelessly as Joel strode away with his bag hanging over his back. She stumbled a couple of steps after him; almost falling over in her high-heel shoes. “I’m gonna go see what the others are up to,” Will told her as soon as Joel was out of sight, pressing his lips briefly against the side of her cold face. Theresa continued to stare into the darkness in which Joel had disappeared into, but managed to give Will a quick nod. “Well…are you coming?” He asked her. “Actually I think I’m gonna go home, left Lib with Kathleen-Angel so I should probably get back there. Y-you stay with your friends,” Theresa replied, snapping quickly out of her gaze and looking back at her boyfriend.
